Introductory Class in Mindfulness & Meditation

Maybe it’s time to try something different

The practice of mindfulness & meditation can be transformative. This multi-week foundational program will introduce you to this 2000-year old practice and give you the training and support for you to begin your own at-home practice.

Each session will be a combination of theory (why we do what we do), individual practice and small group dialogue. You will be supported in-between sessions with text / email motivational reminders and access to guided meditations.

Practice areas we will cover include: 

  • The history and landscape of meditation

  • How to support your body & your mind in meditation

  • Moving from your head to your body

  • Creating space for response versus reactivity

  • Managing difficult emotions

  • Cultivating kindness & generosity

  • Identifying helpful & unhelpful thinking patterns

  • Handling common obstacles to meditation

The Details

  • This course will be kept intentionally small (no more than 10-15 participants). A small group allows for individual dialogue and discussion and fosters a sense of familiarity and community within the cohort.

  • Cohort dates are published below (schedule and registration below).

  • In the spirit of accessibility for all, the cost for the six-week program will be offered on a tiered basis and no one will be turned away because of inability to pay. Please select the highest rate you can reasonably afford.

  • The price tiers for the multi-week program are as follows:

    • Standard rate: $250 - this is the standard rate for the six-week course

    • Pay it Forward: $300 - paying at this rate allows others to join who are not able to pay the full rate

    • Subsidized Rate: $150 - for those who the standard rate is not possible, a subsidized rate is offered

This six-week class will meet on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 to 3:30 at Balancing Owl Yoga in Dublin, OH.

Dates for the course are January 21, January 28, February 4, February 18, February 25 and March 3rd.

*Note there is no class on February 11th.
