My Story

“Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know”

— Pema Chodron

I was an overworked, overstressed, over-busied - yet outwardly accomplished and successful Marketing Executive and mother of four.

My waking moments were filled with activities aimed at winning, achieving and accomplishing - do, do and do.  Life was a race, although I wasn’t quite clear on what I was racing toward or for.

Like many working mothers, I heard terms of meditation, self-care, mental health...and thought those were terms for others, not me. I had too much to do, too many people to take care of, too many things to manage and control.

But my plates were spinning out of control and I was holding on by my fingernails.

In 2016, I hit my emotional and physical bottom.  I was burnt out, depressed and, generally overcome by the challenges that life was throwing my way.

Through the support of a 12-Step program, I was introduced to meditation and the beginnings of a spiritual life that reminded me I had choices and that my perspective was often the root of my suffering.

Over the last five years, I began a regular practice of meditation, gratitude and spiritual inquiry.  Sure enough, my life began to change.

I had the clarity and confidence to make changes in my life -with important relationships around me, with my career and, most importantly, how I engaged with the busiest part of my life (my mind).

I now live a more peaceful life, with joy in the simple life moments and balance in the challenging times.

My empathy and compassion for myself grew, I gained strength and confidence and transformed the relationships in my life.  I found myself able to be a better partner, a better mother and a better communicator.  I trust in my intuition and have developed an ability to make decisions from a place of centeredness, not reactivity or fear.

In 2020, I made the decision to leave my job as the Chief Marketing Officer of a rapidly growing start-up, to engage in a year-long intensive Mindfulness Teacher Training program to allow me to bring these skills (that brought me such strength, clarity and happiness) to others who might benefit.

I am now a certified Mindfulness teacher, as well as a certified HeartMath trainer. Most importantly, I’ve been there. This practice has been life-changing for me and the gift of bringing it to others is something for which I’m eternally grateful.

I invite you to give it a try.
